Our pridePaarl
The town of Paarl is bordered by mountains on one side and the towering Paarl Rock on the other, with the valley of the Berg River running through it. The wine district of Paarl extends beyond the town to include Wellington, Voor Paardeberg and Simonsberg-Paarl.
Being inland, Paarl’s climate is relatively hot in comparison to other Western Cape wine regions. Its long hot summers, cold rainy winters and varied terroir that includes sandstone, granite and shale, allow wine farmers the opportunity to experiment with a range of grape varieties and wine blends.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Pinotage from Paarl are known to be rich and robust, offering intense fruit flavours, while it’s Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay is tropical and fruity.
